SPOTIFY (PASSION)

To be honest, this was one of my favourite passion projects to work on. I did this a year before Spotify launched in Kenya, and was gutted not to be part of the design team.

DESIGN BREAKDOWN

Spotify is a global brand with a very unique User Interface (UI). This inspired me to do a bit of research, where discovered the following;

-The duotone effect was their preferred mode of visual communication.

-I created a campaign that focused on the Kenyan market, specifically millennials.

-The first design featured a photograph I took at the Coast. I quickly applied a duotone effect that matched the original photograph’s aesthetic (refer to  the ‘Mvuvi’ photo in the Expressions tab). The copy was inspired by lyrics from one of my best local songs “Tukawake” by K-rupt. I loved how everything came out. Of course, I had to create a billboard mock up for it.

-The second design featured a photograph from one of my personal shoots. Sticking to the same theme, I applied a duotone effect. The idea was to offer a deal for first time subscribers.
