This is one of those projects that the client wasn’t convinced.
The brief was to come up with branding for a wine company called ‘Oaked’. The brand was expected to exude opulence and class.
DESIGN BREAKDOWN
The first logo was inspired by how a bunch of grapes appear after being plucked from a tree. The 5 grapes were to be represented by the founders 5 fingerprints. The name ‘Oaked’ would appear in a cursive font under the grapes. Therefore, the logo appeared as follows;
-Wine label kept the consistency of the fingerprint montage of the logo.
-The same consistency was to be applied to the packaging.
-The catalogue featured elements of the logo, and a brief description of the wine.
-Lastly, wine pairs perfectly with cheese, so a simple package to finish.
The second logo was inspired by a wine spill (most of us aren’t as careful). I added the word ‘Oaked’ in a cursive font to break the monotony. Therefore, the logo appeared as follows;
-The Wine label featured blots of the wine spill plastered on the visible parts of the label.
-The packaging was more of a reflection of the label.
-I used the same blotted technique on the catalogue to maintain consistency.
-Lastly, the same cheese packaging as described in the first logo.
